Pune: The Maharashtra Land Records Department has initiated a major drive to verify the ownership rights of 12,000 properties in Kharadi. A dedicated team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Land Records has been appointed, and the inquiry will commence in the first week of February.

Once the verification process is completed, property owners will be issued official property cards, serving as legal proof of ownership.

700 Hectares Mapped Using Advanced Technology

The extensive land survey, covering 700 hectares, was conducted using Electronic Total Station (ETS) machines, rovers, and drones. The collected data has been forwarded to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), which has been directed to identify municipal-owned properties, roads, and open spaces within Kharadi.

This step is crucial in distinguishing private property from government-owned land.

Next Steps: Ownership Verification & Property Card Distribution

With the completion of the mapping process, the next phase involves an in-depth verification of property ownership records. For this, the Land Records Department has appointed 60 Deputy Superintendents, who will conduct property ownership inquiries between February 7 and 8.

Property owners will receive official notices regarding the verification process. To facilitate the process, the PMC’s Property Tax Department will provide necessary data and assistance. Officials have assured that the verification will be conducted in a structured and transparent manner, ensuring rightful owners receive their legal property documents without delays.
