The accident happened near the Google office building, and police suspect that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

The accused, identified as Ayush Pradeep Tayal, a resident of Hadapsar, fled the scene after the crash but was later apprehended by the police based on CCTV footage.

The accident occurred between 1:30 and 1:35 AM on the road leading from ABC Road to Tadigutta Chowk. Tayal's vehicle (MH12 NE 4464) first hit three people riding on an Activa scooter, causing minor injuries to them.

Shortly afterward, Tayal’s car struck 33-year-old Rauuf Akbar Shaikh, who was riding an Access two-wheeler, from behind with great force, leaving him seriously injured. Shaikh was immediately rushed to Noble Hospital, but he passed away during treatment.
