In September 2024, a tragic accident had occurred at India Glass Solutions, a factory in Yewalewadi area that supplies glass for construction projects across Pune.
A truck carrying large, heavy glass sheets had arrived at the factory. While the workers were in the process of unloading the glass, a strap holding the glass pieces snapped, causing over two tons of glass to fall onto the workers. The factory owner and five others have been charged with culpable homicide.
