Land Records Department Implements New Survey Rates and Timelines

As per new framework, regular surveys will be completed within 90 days of application and expedited surveys will be completed within 30 days of application.

Pune, 3rd December 2024: In a significant move aimed at simplifying land surveys, the Land Records Department has introduced a streamlined fee structure and reduced survey categories.

The revised framework, effective December 1, includes uniform fees for rural and municipal areas, along with two simplified survey options: regular and expedited.

Previously, the fees for city surveys and survey numbers varied, and the surveys were classified into four types: standard, urgent, extra-urgent, and super-urgent.

To address the confusion and administrative challenges these created, the department has now consolidated these into just two categories: regular and expedited surveys.

While the state government had initially announced the changes to be effective from November 1, the delay occurred as department staff were engaged in state assembly election duties. The implementation was postponed and commenced on December 1.

Revised Fee Structure and Timelines

Recognizing the rising administrative costs and confusion over multiple survey types, the department has established clear timelines and fees:

  • Regular surveys will be completed within 90 days of application.

  • Expedited surveys will be completed within 30 days of application.

Fees for Rural Areas

  • ₹2,000 for regular surveys per plot (up to two hectares).

  • ₹8,000 for expedited surveys per plot (up to two hectares).

Fees for Municipal Limits

  • ₹3,000 for regular surveys per plot (up to one hectare).

  • ₹12,000 for expedited surveys per plot (up to one hectare).

This overhaul is expected to bring clarity to landowners and reduce delays caused by the previously complex system.
