Pune: Pune district has emerged as the top performer in Maharashtra during the fourth National Lok Adalat held on Saturday (December 14), successfully resolving 87,486 cases and achieving settlements worth over ₹366 crore.
Significant Achievements
The National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Mahendra K. Mahajan, Chairman of the Legal Services Authority and Principal District and Sessions Judge. During the event, Judge Mahajan emphasized the importance of Lok Adalats, describing them as “a vital mechanism for ensuring quick, accessible, and cost-effective justice to all.”
Out of the total 1,87,063 cases registered for settlement, 87,486 cases were resolved successfully.
Pre-Litigation Success
The Lok Adalat achieved notable success in pre-litigation cases, with settlements amounting to ₹52.03 crore. A total of 1,45,179 pre-litigation cases were registered, and 51,328 cases were successfully resolved.
Post-Litigation Settlements
For pending litigation cases, settlements worth ₹314.24 crore were achieved. Out of the 41,884 cases taken up for settlement, 36,158 cases were successfully resolved.

The event proceedings were conducted by Gaurika Patil, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Judge D.J. Patil.
The success of this Lok Adalat has once again positioned Pune as a leading district in resolving legal disputes efficiently.
Pune district had also achieved the highest number of resolved cases in the state during the National Lok Adalat held in July 2024 after clearing 1,00,517 cases, including 33,695 pending cases and 66,822 pre-litigation cases.
