Pune: As the assembly elections draw near, leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) held a meeting at Congress Bhavan in Pune.

The meeting, which lasted for nearly an hour, saw the participation of prominent figures such as Congress city president Arvind Shinde, Sharad Pawar faction city president Prashant Jagtap, MLA Ravindra Dhangekar, and senior Congress leader Mohan Joshi, along with other current and former officials.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Prashant Jagtap highlighted that the gathering focused on preparing for the upcoming elections in Pune. He noted that with only a short time left, the MVA will soon be organizing rallies, public meetings, and events featuring key leaders.

According to Jagtap, thorough discussions took place to strategize for these events, and the MVA is in the process of finalizing its candidates. He hinted that the candidate list might be announced within the next two days.

Jagtap further emphasized the MVA’s readiness for the elections, stressing the importance of selecting loyal candidates with strong public connections and proven track records of development work.

He expressed confidence that the coalition would avoid any internal conflicts in Pune and that candidates with the highest chances of success would receive nominations.

The city encompasses eight constituencies: Kasba, Shivajinagar, Pune Cantonment, Parvati, Wadgaon Sheri, Hadapsar, Khadakwasla, and Kothrud. The seat-sharing arrangement for four of Pune city's assembly constituencies remains unresolved within the MVA coalition.
