The Maharashtra Government has announced plans to set up 'Bharat Mandapam' like cultural centres in seven major cities across the state, including Pune. This initiative aims to replicate the success of New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam, a world-class convention centre known for hosting diverse cultural events and exhibitions.
Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi is a state-of-the-art convention centre located within the Pragati Maidan complex. It features a large meeting hall capable of accommodating 7,000 people and offers modern infrastructure suitable for hosting various events, including cultural performances, conferences, and exhibitions. The Maharashtra Government seeks to emulate this model by creating similar cultural hubs across the state.
The cultural centres will be established in the following cities:
Mumbai
Navi Mumbai
Thane
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad)
Nagpur
Pune
Nashik
The centres will be designed with modern amenities, including state-of-the-art sound systems, spacious auditoriums, and exhibition spaces. They will also incorporate elements that reflect Maharashtra's architectural heritage and cultural identity.
The establishment of 'Bharat Mandapam' inspired cultural centres in Maharashtra marks a significant step toward preserving and promoting the state's cultural heritage. As these centres come to life, they will not only enrich the cultural fabric of Maharashtra but also contribute to the state's economic and social development.
