Mumbai: For the fourth day in a row, Mumbai and nearby areas including Thane woke up to a cloudy morning and light showers on Monday.

The formation of a low pressure area in the Arabian Sea brought light showers in Mumbai and its neighbouring areas. The weather department earlier had said that a low pressure area has created over the south east Arabian Sea and the adjoining south west area of the sea. This brought clouds and humidity, resulting in light showers over the region.

KS Hosalikar, Head, Regional Meteorological Centre in Mumbai on his Twitter said, “There is moderate rainfall in Mumbai and it will remain same till next three to four hours.”

In his another tweets, he said, “There could be traffic jams, poor visibility.. Drive slowly as roads could be wet. Its raining Mumbai Thane around too.”

Though the showers brought down temperatures and gave a respite from the heat, the December rains are definitely taking Mumbaikars by surprise for last four days.

Well, after a few spells of rain, early in the morning on Monday, several Twitter users took to the social media platform to share photographs and memes of an overcast sky and wet streets in Mumbai. Check out some of them below:
