Maharashtra horror: Woman raped twice in moving bus while travelling to Pune from Nagpur

Pune: With a number of heinous crime increasing in Maharashtra, another disturbing news has come forward.

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped twice in a moving bus while she was returning to Pune from Nagpur. The incident took place on January 6 where a cleaner of the bus allegedly raped the woman in a private luxury bus.

The accused has been identified as Sameer Deokar (25). According to a report, the victim said that Sameer who was bus cleaner had asked her to shift from seat five to seat number 15. Then he asked her to remain silent, threatened her with a knife and raped her twice.

The woman initially tried to lodge the complaint at Ranjangaon Police in Pune. As the incident took place in Washim, the Pune police transferred the case to Washim's Malegaon police.

The 21-year-old hails from Gondia and works with a private company in MIDC at Ranjangaon in Pune district. According to the police, the woman had gone to attend her sister's wedding in a village in Bhandara. The incident took place in the bus after she boarded the bus in Nagpur while returning to Pune.

An FIR has been registered based on the statement of the survivor and the police have lodged a case against the bus cleaner.
