Ahmednagar: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission's (MPSC) result lifted spirits at Madhevadagaon village in Shrigonda taluka after Ajay and Narendra Shinde, hailing from the village, cleared their MPSC exams. The siblings grew up in a farmer family, and while one of them became Deputy Collector, the other one became Deputy Tehsildar. On hearing their results, their family expressed their happiness with tears of joy, and everyone from the village got together to celebrate the family.

Ajay and Narendra's father, Dattatray Shinde, is an engineer by education, however, he provided for their education with his farming and contract money. Their mother, Sujata, is a housewife. By working hard at the farms, they fulfilled their dream together to educate their children into officers. The MPSE exams were conducted in July 2019.

The success of Shinde brothers brought honour to small Madhevadagaon village, as this was the first time somebody from the village has achieved such a feat. The youngsters, who have spent their lives in rural Maharashtra, were able to prove their abilities after achieving the results.

Ajay and Narendra's mother, Sujata Shinde spoke to Sakal Times saying, "Our children graduating as officers was our wish.

We have never restricted them on the education they should pursue, but they always had the determination to become officers.

We knew they'd bring nothing but honour to our village. The success of their results made us very happy. My third son Sujay is also preparing for a competitive exam. There is no doubt that he, too, will achieve success in the near future."

Echoing with their mother, both Ajay and Narendra agreed that they were never restricted from pursuing the career that they chose for themselves. They were also mentored by their uncle who resided in Pune.

"We're both siblings, so when it's about brothers, there's always quarrels. But there is no healthy competition or success without quarrels. This is why we both succeeded," the brothers said.
