Mumbai Police will now patrol on cool self-balancing scooters

The cops from the Mumbai police department will now monitor and patrol the city on these self-balancing scooters

Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Sunday inaugurated 20 Segway electric scooters for Mumbai Police officers in a move to strengthen the police force. 10 of these two-wheeled scooters will be deployed in Bandra.

The cops from the Mumbai police department will now monitor and patrol the city on these self-balancing scooters. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray along with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar flagged off the sooters for patrolling at Worli om Sunday.

The cops riding the Segway scooters will have a public address system attached to their masks. They will also keep a check on social distancing adding that drones will provide additional cover to the police.

Parth Jindal of JSW Cement who sponsored the scooters, Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh, Deputy Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil and many senior police officials were also present at the event.
