Special Trains Announced from Mumbai and Pune to Ahmedabad for ICC T20 World Cup Final

Central Railway introduces four special services to help cricket fans travel conveniently for the India vs New Zealand final on March 8

Pune, 7th March 2026: Central Railway has announced the operation of four special train services between Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad to facilitate cricket fans travelling to watch the ICC T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand scheduled on Sunday, March 8.

The railway administration said the additional services have been introduced to manage the expected surge in passengers travelling to Ahmedabad for the high-profile match.

Two air-conditioned superfast special trains will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Train number 01153 AC Superfast Special will depart from CSMT at 10.05 pm on March 7 and reach Ahmedabad at 6.40 am the next day.

The return train, number 01154, will leave Ahmedabad at 4 am on March 9 and arrive at CSMT at 12.55 pm the same day.

These trains will halt at Dadar, Thane, Vasai Road, Surat and Vadodara. The rake will include 18 AC third economy coaches along with two generator cars.

In addition, Central Railway will run two superfast special trains between Pune and Ahmedabad. Train number 01417 will depart from Pune at 5.30 pm on March 7 and reach Ahmedabad at 5.30 am on March 8. The return service, train number 01418, will depart from Ahmedabad at 2 am on March 9 and reach Pune at 12.10 pm the same day.

This train will stop at Lonavala, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Surat and Vadodara. The train composition includes one AC second class coach, five AC third class coaches, ten sleeper class coaches, four general second class coaches and two second seating coaches along with a guard brake van.

"Bookings for Train number 01153 and Train number 01417 opened on March 7 at all computerised reservation centres and through the IRCTC website," railway officials said.

Passengers can also book unreserved tickets through the UTS system and use the RailOne mobile application for ticket bookings. Detailed timings and halt information are available on the Indian Railways enquiry portal and the NTES mobile application.
