Pune: A ST bus carrying over 42 passengers met with an accident, leaving all on board injured. The bus, which was traveling from Mahude to Bhor, veered off the road at the Ambabai slope in Mahude Budruk and became stuck in a muddy pit, avoiding what could have been a more devastating crash.

The bus, identified as MH 06 S 8289, swerved off the side road and forcefully collided with a nearby ditch, injuring the passengers inside. Initial reports suggest that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, though the exact cause of the accident remains unclear.

Out of the 42 passengers, 39 are currently receiving treatment at the Bhor Sub-District Hospital. Medical Superintendent Dr. Anand Sabne confirmed that 14 of these passengers were admitted for further care, while the rest have been treated for minor injuries.

Three other passengers are being treated at private clinics. The identities of the injured include women, children, and elderly passengers.

Eyewitnesses stated that the bus was fully packed, and many feared for their lives as it skidded off the road. Fortunately, the bus became stuck in the mud, preventing it from rolling further and causing more serious injuries.

Relatives of the injured gathered outside the hospital in large numbers, anxiously waiting for updates. Local authorities suspect that a mechanical fault in the bus might have caused the accident.

It has been reported that buses from the Bhor depot have been facing frequent mechanical issues. However, the Bhor depot officials and police are still investigating to provide a detailed report on the accident.
