Pune, 28 July 2025: A major fire broke out in a container truck traveling on the Pune–Satara highway late Sunday night, causing panic and traffic disruption. The incident occurred near the Jambhulwadi bridge, close to Pune city, around 12:30 AM.
Eyewitnesses reported that the container suddenly caught fire, sending dense smoke billowing across the area. Due to poor visibility and fear of the fire spreading, vehicular movement on the highway came to a temporary halt.
Firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control after a brief operation. Fortunately, no major injuries have been reported so far. However, officials are yet to confirm the exact cause of the fire or if anyone was harmed in the incident.
Authorities are investigating the incident to determine how the fire started and whether any safety protocols were breached.
