Pune: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the application deadline for its Pune division's housing lottery scheme. Citizens now have until December 31, 2024, to submit their applications.
According to Rahul Sakore, Chief Officer of MHADA Pune Division, approximately 68,000 applications have been received so far for the 6,294 houses available under the lottery.
The application process commenced on October 10, 2024. Initially, the deadline was extended to December 10, 2024, following requests from citizens citing the festive season and assembly elections. Later, based on further appeals for more time to complete documentation, the deadline was extended again to December 31, 2024.
Breakdown of Housing Units Available
The lottery includes a diverse range of housing units:
First-Come, First-Served Priority Scheme: 2,340 houses
Various MHADA Projects: 93 houses
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY): 418 houses
20% Inclusive Housing Scheme: 3,312 apartments
15% Social Housing Scheme: 131 houses

Payment and Deposit Submission: By January 2, 2025
Lottery Draw: Scheduled for January 28, 2025
The entire lottery process, from application submission to possession, will be conducted online through a computerized system, ensuring transparency at every stage.

Applicants must visit www.mhada.gov.in or https://mhada.gov.in to register. For housing units under the "first-come, first-served" scheme, registrations must be made at lottery.mhada.gov.in.
