Hirkani chambers at PHC, following ZP foot-steps for lactating mothers

Model Hirkani chambers at PHC and Panchyat Samiti; after such chambers at ZP, PHC and Panchyat Samiti too will have chambers; women and child department to set-up ‘model Hirkani Chamber’

Following the Hirkani chamber at Zilla Parishad, the women and child department of ZP have decided to set-up ‘model Hirkani chambers’, at various primary health centres as well as the panchayat samiti offices in the district.

Women who visit the ZP or other government offices for various works often carry their child(ren) with them. Few of these women are lactating mothers and it becomes difficult for the woman to feed her child.

Thus, the chief executive officer (CEO) of ZP mooted the idea of Hirkani Chamber. After receiving over-whelming response at various offices in ZP premises, the women and child department had decided to set-up such chambers at PHC and Panchyat Samiti offices in the district.

“In the first phase 108 chambers will be set-up in PHC. These chambers will be set-up on the open space near the centres.”, said an officer.
