MSEDCL Disconnects Power for 25000 Consumers Over ₹88 Crore Unpaid Bills

To prevent disconnection, MSEDCL has reminded consumers to use online payment facilities via the official website or mobile app.

Pune: In a strict move to recover outstanding electricity dues, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has disconnected power for 25,434 defaulters across the Pune division in the last 24 days. The region has a total pending amount of ₹88.45 crore, with defaulters spanning residential, commercial, and industrial categories.

Disconnection Drive Intensified
MSEDCL primarily relies on monthly consumer payments to cover electricity procurement and operational costs. Due to rising arrears, the company has intensified its power disconnection drive and urged consumers to settle their dues immediately.

Region-Wise Dues and Disconnections

  • Region: Outstanding Dues (₹ Crore): Consumers Disconnected

  • Pune City: ₹40.09 crore: 10177

  • Pimpri-Chinchwad: ₹18.40 crore: 7796

  • Rural Areas (Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Rajgad, Haveli): ₹29.96 crore: 7461

Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar is conducting field inspections and reviewing collections at branch offices. Superintending Engineers Yuvraj Jarg, Sinhajirao Gaikwad, and Ravindra Bunde are overseeing the execution of disconnections and reconnections for consumers who settle their dues.

To prevent disconnection, MSEDCL has reminded consumers to use online payment facilities via the official website (http://www.mahadiscom.in) or mobile app. Consumers are encouraged to pay dues promptly to avoid service disruption.
