Pune: In a tragic incident near Aga Khan Palace on Nagar Road, a drunken autorickshaw driver, driving recklessly and in the wrong direction, caused the death of a passenger after the vehicle overturned. The Yerawada police have registered a case against the driver, who has been identified as Parag Sharma (28), a resident of Chandan Nagar.
The deceased passenger, Dharamveer Radheshyam Singh (38), a resident of Wadgaon Sheri, sustained severe head injuries in the accident. Despite being rushed to the hospital by the police, he was declared dead before receiving treatment.
According to eyewitness accounts, the autorickshaw was speeding and out of control late on Sunday night. Assistant Police Inspector Mahesh Lamkhede, leading the investigation, confirmed that the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. A notice has been served to the driver, and further action is pending.
Speeding Truck Kills Motorcyclist in Kharadi
Pune: A 36-year-old motorcyclist, Dadasaheb Bhagwan Kudak, was killed on Sunday afternoon when a speeding truck collided with his motorcycle on Nagar Road near the Kharadi bypass. The Chandan Nagar police have registered a case against the truck driver following a complaint by Kudak's wife, Aarti Kudak.
The incident occurred around 3:15 PM as Kudak was traveling along Nagar Road. Witnesses reported that the truck, moving at high speed, hit the motorcycle, causing Kudak's death on the spot. Police Sub-Inspector Ravindra Dhaware is handling the case and has initiated further investigations.
