Veteran Actor Nana Patekar Dies at 75

Veteran actor found unconscious at his Goa home; doctors declared him dead after a 45-minute attempt to revive him

Veteran actor Nana Patekar died in Goa on Thursday morning at the age of 75, leaving the Hindi and Marathi film industries and his fans in deep shock. The actor was reportedly found unconscious at his home in Dona Paula, Goa, and was immediately taken to a hospital.

Doctors declared him dead at around 5:20 am. According to initial reports, Patekar suffered a cardiac arrest. Doctors reportedly made efforts to revive him for nearly 45 minutes, but he did not respond to treatment.

Nana Patekar made his acting debut with the 1978 film Gaman. Over the years, he established himself as one of the most respected and versatile actors in Indian cinema.

His powerful performances in films including Parinda, Prahaar, Angaar, Krantiveer, Tirangaa, Khamoshi and Ab Tak Chhappan earned him widespread recognition. He was known for bringing intensity and realism to a wide range of characters.

Patekar's work across Hindi and Marathi cinema earned him a distinct place among India's celebrated actors. His strong screen presence, dialogue delivery and ability to portray complex characters made him popular across generations.

His death marks the loss of a prominent figure in Indian cinema. Fans, colleagues and members of the film industry are mourning the actor's sudden passing.
