Pune: In a bid to expedite infrastructure development, MP Dr. Amol Kolhe has urged Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari to grant immediate approval for the Nashik Phata to Chandoli Elevated Corridor, which is currently awaiting final approval.

Dr. Kolhe also pressed for the swift implementation of the Pune-Shirur and Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur elevated corridor projects, now under the jurisdiction of the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC).

During the budget session of Parliament, Dr. Kolhe met with Minister Gadkari to discuss the pending national highway projects in the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency.

He emphasized the urgent need to approve the Nashik Phata to Chandoli Elevated Corridor, noting that the tender process for this project has already been completed.

Minister Gadkari assured Dr. Kolhe that approval for the Nashik Phata to Chandoli Elevated Corridor would be granted. Additionally, Dr. Kolhe highlighted the necessity of rapidly implementing the Pune-Shirur and Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur elevated corridor projects, which have been transferred to MSIDC.

Dr. Kolhe has been diligently following up on these three national highway projects, which have been stalled for several years. The tender processes for the Nashik Phata to Chandoli, Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur, and Pune-Shirur elevated corridors were initiated just before the Lok Sabha elections.

Post-elections, the Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur and Pune-Shirur national highways were assigned to MSIDC. The Nashik Phata to Chandoli Elevated Corridor project, now in its final stage, will be executed through the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Citing the severe traffic congestion in the Chakan area, Dr. Kolhe stressed the need for immediate approval of this elevated corridor to alleviate the situation without further delay.
