66.75% turnout in Gujarat poll's first phase

Gandhinagar: The first phase of Gujarat assembly elections on Saturday saw a 66.75 per cent turnout, according to final figures released by the Election Commission on Sunday.

The maximum voting (79.15 per cent) was seen in the tribal district of Narmada, followed by Tapi with 78.56 per cent, and the minimum (59.39 per cent) recorded in Devbhoomi Dwarka district.

The constituency that saw the highest turnout was Dediapada, in Narmad district, with 84.63 per cent polling, while a little behind was Kaprada in Valsad district at 83.91 percent. The minimum turnout was recorded in the Scheduled Caste seat of Gandhidham in Kutch district, at 54.18 percent.
