A viral video of BJP Mumbai Chief and MLA Ameet Satam is widely shared on X because of the legislator's insensitive remark over deaths of an individual and boy due to incessant rainfall in Mumbai.

The video is from July 2, at the Vidhan Bhavan premises, where it can seen Satam allegedly laughing while referring to the city’s recent failures in municipal governance.

On July 2, man named Aslam Sheikh (55) died after falling into an open manhole in Sakinaka, an 11-year-old boy lost his life after a tree fell on a school bus in Chembur, in Mumbai.

In the video, Satam while shaking hand with Jayant Patil can be heard as saying, “Yesterday it was a tree, today it is a manhole”, apparently referring to two recent fatal incidents in Mumbai.

The video is being widely shared by the 'X' users and opposition members expressing their disgust over the behaviour of Mumbai BJP Chief. Satam is being criticised for displaying insensitivity towards the victims and their families.

Opposition leaders and critics are accusing Satam of displaying insensitivity towards the victims and their families. Many are questioning the seriousness of political functionaries and repeated civic infrastructure failures.

The recent incident has intensified the political discourse on civic negligence in Mumbai, as a succession of rain-related mishaps and fatalities has once more highlighted infrastructure shortcomings and the responsibility of municipal authorities during the monsoon period.
