Assam Assembly Elections 2021: Check out BJP’s star campaigners; Congress releases first candidates list

The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has released its list of star campaigners for the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections

Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has released its list of star campaigners for the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam. The 126-member Assam Assembly Elections will be held in three phases on March 27, April 1 and April 6.

The BJP's star campaigner list for Assam includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and many other union ministers.

Union minister Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Narendra Singh Tomar, Arjun Munda, Smriti Irani, Jitendra Singh, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Anurag Singh Thakur, BL Santosh, Baijayant Jay Panda, Dilip Saikia, Shah Nawaj Hussain, Poonam Mahajan, Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, and Locket Chatterjee are also on the list.

CONGRESS RELEASES FIRST CANDIDATE LIST

Congress also released the first list of 40 candidates for the 47 Assembly. According to the list, announced by Congress’ Central Election Committee in-charge and party General Secretary Mukul Wasnik, six women – Sibamoni Bora (Batadroba), Roselina Tirkey (Serupathar), Bismita Gogoi (Khumtai), Pallabi Gogoi (Teok), Angkita Dutta (Amguri) and Pranatee Phukan (Naharkatia) and two Muslim candidates – Mohammad Nurul Huda (Rupohihat) and Rakibul Hussain (Samaguri) were given party tickets.

Six of the 19 sitting MLAs including Congress Legislature Party leader Debabrata Saikia and Rajya Sabha member and party President Ripun Bora will contest polls from Nazira and Gohpur constituencies, respectively.
