January 2021: Banks to remain shut for 14 days; check list here

As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), these holidays may vary from state to state and be different in different banks.

Banks will remain shut for a total of 14 days in the first month of 2021. These include the four Sundays beside with second and fourth Saturday. Banks would also remain closed on Republic Day (January 26), the only national holiday for the month of January.

Here is the list of national bank holidays in January 2021

01 January: New Year's Day

03 January: Weekly off (Sunday)

09 January: Second Saturday

10 January: Weekly off (Sunday)

17 January: Weekly off (Sunday)

23 January: Fourth Saturday

24 January: Weekly off (Sunday)

26 January: Republic Day

31 January: Weekly off (Sunday)

As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), these holidays may vary from state to state and be different in different banks. Customers are requested to plan their bank-related work accordingly, in order to avoid any last-minute trouble. While banks will remain shut on these days, mobile and internet banking will remain functional. As for the next year, banks around India will stay closed for more than 40 days.
