Satendra Soni, an actor who gained recognition for his performances in Lapata Ladies and Bhagwan Bharose, has claimed that he and his colleagues recently experienced a disturbing incident while filming in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh.
The matter surfaced after Soni shared a video on his Instagram handle, in which he alleged that Pushpendra Singh, the filmmaker behind Ajmer 92, issued death threats and subjected him and his co-workers to intimidation and assault.
What Happened
He went to Maihar, Madhya Pradesh, for the shoot of the film Ped Palkhi (also referred to as Pet Palki or Peed Palkhi), directed/produced by Pushpendra Singh (who previously made Ajmer 92).
He received an advance of ₹50,000 as a signing amount. The remaining payment was promised after the shoot.
He and his co-actors (including Shridhar Dubey and others) completed about 8 days of shooting.
When asked for the pending amount, the director allegedly asked him to pack up and leave immediately. He was also asked to vacate the hotel room and his belongings were thrown out.
Soni claimed he faced threats to his life, intimidation, assault (including being chased and beaten on the road along with a co-actor), and an attempt to snatch his phone. In an emotional, tearful video that went viral (posted around June 27-28, 2026), Soni broke down while narrating the events and pleading for help.
Response
As the video went viral, local Maihar police intervened and helped the artists. After reaching Mumbai, Soni posted a video from railway station thanking Madhya Pradesh police, well wishers and also mentioned former minister Narottam Mishra for helping them out of the situation. and his colleagues
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) raised the issue and demanded an FIR and action from the Madhya Pradesh government.
