Two days after Ambani security scare, Mumbai police hunt for the other car

The Crime Branch of Mumbai police are trying to locate the other vehicle – Innova.

Two days after a vehicle with explosives was found near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house Antilia in Mumbai on Thursday, the crime branch is looking for another vehicle that had been seen at the spot, an official said on Saturday.

The Crime Branch of Mumbai police are trying to locate the other vehicle – Innova.

CCTV footage showed that the Scorpio, along with the Innova, reached the spot in the early hours on Thursday. The driver of Scorpio in which explosives were found, got down and left the place in the Innova. The other vehicle was then traced exiting Mumbai and entering Thane before its trace was lost.

Police have checked the footage of hundreds of CCTVs on the route taken by the two cars but have not found any clues, the officials said.

The Crime Branch of Mumbai police have also recorded the statements of 25 persons in its probe so far, an official said.

On Thursday, Police recovered a Scorpio laden with 20 gelatin explosives sticks with a handwritten letter addressed to Reliance Industries Chairman and his wife, Neeta Ambani in broken English.

Police have tightened the security near Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai.
