Vizag gas leak: Politicians, other luminaries react to the disastrous tragedy

The entire country woke up to shocking news of a gas leakage that took place at a polymer plant in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. According to reports, at least 11 people succumbed to death, and more than thousands have been hospitalised.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his Twitter said he was praying for the safety of all those affected by a toxic gas leak this morning from a chemical plant in Andhra Pradesh's Vishakhapatnam.

Other political leaders, including the President of India, Amith Shah, Rahul Gandhi expressed grief over the tragedy.

In the aftermath of the gas Many Bollywood celebrities such as Ayushmann Khurana, Anushka Sharma and sports personalities including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, PV Sindhu, Sania Mirza among others, took to social media to express grief and prayed for the recovery of those who have been admitted in the hospital.

As per reports, the gas leakage took place around 3 am at the LG Polymers industry, which is situated at RR Venkatapuram. People living in the area reported problems such as breathing vomiting and burning sensation in their eyes.
