Pune, 4th April 2026: A candidate aspiring to join the police force faced a serious health emergency after allegedly consuming stimulants to enhance his performance during a recruitment trial in Daund.

The incident took place at the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) ground, where the candidate had appeared for the physical test. In an attempt to secure higher marks in the running event, he reportedly consumed performance-enhancing substances, including powders and pills.

Although he managed to complete the running test, his condition began to deteriorate shortly afterward. Witnesses reported that he started behaving erratically, causing panic among other candidates and officials present at the ground.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, SRPF personnel stationed at the venue intervened immediately. They managed to control the candidate and rushed him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Doctors provided timely treatment, and the candidate is now reported to be out of danger. However, the incident has raised concerns over the use of stimulants during recruitment processes.

"Some candidates are using powders and tablets to boost speed during the test. This candidate showed abnormal behavior due to such intake. He is stable now, and action will be taken against others found doing the same," said Assistant Commandant Sachin Dahale.

The authorities have indicated that strict action will be taken against candidates found using such substances, as the incident has created a stir in the ongoing recruitment process.
