Elon Musk’s xAI Unveils Grok Bot as AI Teammate for Everyday Work Tasks

Cloud-powered Grok Bot runs its own virtual computer, learns from user behavior, and manages complex workflows across apps, websites, and workplace tools as a persistent AI collaborator.

xAI has launched Grok Bot, an AI agent built to handle tasks across applications, websites, and workplace tools.

Announced on August 11, Grok Bot is currently in beta and is presented as an AI teammate capable of working continuously rather than just replying to single prompts.

Grok Bot has its own dedicated computer.

A standout capability of Grok Bot is that every Bot is assigned its own cloud-based computer.

This enables it to use software, browse websites, and operate other tools much like a human user. According to the company, the Bots can also function with platforms that lack a dedicated API or MCP integration.

Grok Bot is capable of managing multi-step workflows and re-engaging users whenever their approval or a decision is needed.

According to xAI, it can be used for tasks such as updating CRM entries, drafting sales follow-ups, handling invoice processing, replicating software bugs, and generating tickets for engineering teams.

Task can be assigned through Chats

Grok Bot is designed around a conversational interface. Users can message a Bot from their desktop or phone and continue the same conversation later.

Unlike traditional automation tools, xAI says users do not have to create complex workflows before assigning a task.

Bots can also be trained by observing users as they carry out tasks.

After a process is shown once, the bot can store the sequence of actions and reproduce the task in the future. When users make corrections, these adjustments help the bot refine its approach to match the preferred method for completing a specific task.

Multiple Bots can Work Together

Grok Bot also supports multiple Bots working in parallel. Users can assign different Bots to areas such as sales, operations, recruiting, inbox management or engineering.

Bots can exchange information, delegate tasks among themselves, and coordinate their activities through shared conversations.

Users can add multiple Bots to group chats, allowing them to collaborate on tasks and involve the user in the discussion whenever a decision is required.

Grok Bot availability

Grok Bot is now in beta for SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers on desktop and iOS. Enterprise customers can sign up for a waitlist to gain access in the future.

xAI states that Grok Bot began as an internal prototype and was deployed across functions such as sales, marketing, operations, product development, and engineering prior to being made available to external users.
