National Conference in Pune to Discuss Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024

The event, organized by the All India Waqf Trustees, Maharashtra State, will take place from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Assembly Hall, Azam Campus, Camp.

Pune will host a crucial national conference on September 8, 2024, to deliberate on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill-2024 and the Waqf (Correction) Bill-2024.

The event, organized by the All India Waqf Trustees, Maharashtra State, will take place from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Assembly Hall, Azam Campus, Camp. The conference aims to bring together key figures to discuss and analyze these important legislative proposals.

Among the distinguished speakers are Hazrat Maulana Fazlur-Rehman Mujaddidi, General Secretary of the All India Personal Law Board; B. G. Kolse-Patil, Judge of the Bombay High Court; and Adv. Mehmood Pracha, a prominent Supreme Court lawyer.

The conference will feature several prominent speakers, including:

  • Hazrat Maulana Fazlur-Rehman Mujaddidi, General Secretary, All India Personal Law Board

  • B. G. Kolse-Patil, Judge, Bombay High Court

  • Adv. Mehmood Pracha, Lawyer, Supreme Court

  • Adv. Syed Anwar Ali, Lawyer, Supreme Court, Delhi

  • Munisa Bushra Abedi, Executive Member, All India Muslim Personal Law Board

  • Dr. Lubna Sarwat, Social Activist, Hyderabad

The conference will also be attended by Maulana Nizamuddin Fakhruddin, Maulana Ayub Ashrafi, Maulana Rajin Ashrafi, Adv. Ayub Ilahi Baksh Sheikh, Adv. M. M. Syed, Zahidbhai Sheikh, Dr. Rahi Kazhi, and Dr. Anwar Hussain.

The discussions will focus on the implications of the proposed bills, with a view to presenting a unified stance to the parliamentary joint committee. The Waqf boards, responsible for managing Muslim-donated assets, operate under the Waqf Act of 1995.
