Pune: The Centre for Science Education and Communication at Savitribai Phule Pune University has announced a Science Drama Competition as part of the National Science Day celebrations. Scheduled for January 2025, the event aims to engage students in grades 1 to 12 with a creative platform to explore and express scientific concepts through drama.
Eligibility and Participation
The competition is open to school students from grades 1 to 12. Participants can register as representatives of their schools or as independent groups. Registration is free and will remain open until December 31, 2024.
To ensure alignment with the event's theme, registered participants will receive a complimentary set of four books—"Towards Science Through Drama (Parts 1 to 3)" and "Science Dramas". Only plays from these books will be considered for the competition, as outlined by the university's regulations.
Timeline and Prize Details
Drama presentations are scheduled for January 2025, with the exact dates and timings to be announced by January 10, 2025. Winners will be declared, and prizes distributed during an event on February 10, 2025. The first-place drama will qualify for the state-level finals, to be held in Mumbai or Thane on February 28, 2025.
The competition offers cash prizes for the top three winners:
1st Prize: ₹5,000
2nd Prize: ₹3,000
3rd Prize: ₹2,000
