Pune: A tragic accident took place near Baburao Gholap College, New Sangvi, on Sunday night (October 20), resulting in the death of a young woman, Amruta Mahadev Naik (21).

The accident occurred when Amruta’s motorcycle slipped on a cement block by the roadside, causing her to lose control and fall onto the road. A PMPML bus traveling behind her ran over her, leading to her death on the spot. The incident occurred around 9 PM.

The police reported that PMPML bus number 354 was on its route from Market Yard to Pimpri via Aundh, Sangvi, and Pimple Gurav.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local residents and Sangvi police rushed to the scene. Amruta was immediately transported to the district hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The bus driver and conductor have been taken into police custody, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
