Pune: ParamYoga has joined hands with Antarang Holistic Wellness Centre to unveil the Somatic Vedic Yoga Educator Program, an initiative combining ancient yogic practices with modern somatic movement therapy.

Set to launch in January 2025, the program aims to revolutionize wellness education by certifying practitioners in a holistic healing approach that integrates physical and mental health.

The program is the brainchild of Ramesh Lakshmanan, licensed Hanna Somatics practitioner and Director of Antarang Holistic Wellness Centre.

“This course responds to a growing demand for body-mind-centered healing practices, addressing issues such as chronic pain, trauma, and sensory-motor disconnection. By shifting from reactive treatments to preventive strategies, this program empowers educators to lead transformative change,” said Lakshmanan.

ParamYoga Director Rashmi Ghatge highlighted the program’s potential, citing her personal experience: “By combining yoga with somatic techniques, I achieved relief from chronic pain that yoga alone could not address. This inspired me to collaborate on this initiative and equip more practitioners with these life-changing skills.”

The course offers a comprehensive curriculum covering Neurophysiology, Muscular Anatomy, Vedic Mantras, Yoga Upanishad Philosophy, and Somatic Movement Therapy.

Delivered primarily online, the program includes a six-day, in-person residency each semester at Param Yogashala in Pune. Participants will gain practical experience, guided by expert instructors, ensuring the highest training standards.

The program is open to yoga educators, wellness professionals, and individuals seeking alternative approaches to health. Its focus is on addressing the root causes of stress and disconnection, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and balanced wellness.

“This initiative is not only about advancing health education but also about making integrative wellness accessible and affordable,” added Ghatge.

With a vision to create a new generation of practitioners equipped with innovative healing methods, the Somatic Vedic Yoga Educator Program marks a significant step forward in holistic wellness education in India.
