Pune: Two young men tragically lost their lives on Wednesday evening after their boat capsized in Pavana Dam in Maval Taluka.

The deceased, identified as Tushar Ahire and Mayur Bharsake, drowned after the incident. A case of negligence has been registered against the owners of the villa and the boat involved in the accident.

Incident Details

Tushar Ahire and Mayur Bharsake, residents of Bhusawal, had visited the scenic Pavana Dam area with friends on December 4.

The group stayed at Lake Escape Villa, located on the reservoir's backwaters, which provides direct access to the dam.

A boat owned by Sumati Viva was stationed at the reservoir. Tushar, Mayur, and a friend decided to take the boat into the dam’s waters.

Unfortunately, the boat capsized, and all three fell into the water. While their friend survived, Tushar and Mayur were unable to gauge the depth of the water and drowned.

The family of Tushar Ahire filed a complaint at Lonavala Rural Police Station, following which a case was registered. Inspector Kishor Dhumal confirmed the filing of charges of negligence against the villa and boat owners. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Recently, Viraj Ishwar Phad (18) from Kothrud, reported missing earlier this week, was recovered from the Devkund View Point gorge in Tamhini Ghat on Saturday (November 30) evening. On Thursday (28th), tourists visiting the Devkund View Point stumbled upon a bag near the edge of a high cliff.
