Pune: In a major initiative aimed at strengthening industrial growth and investment, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched the 'Industry Facilitation Cell.' The primary goal of this cell is to enhance communication between the municipal administration and the business sector, resolve industrial concerns efficiently, and foster an environment conducive to economic growth.
Objectives and Features
The newly formed cell will provide a platform for business owners, traders, and industrial organizations to voice their concerns and seek solutions. By coordinating with government departments, the cell aims to streamline investment processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and offer necessary legal and administrative assistance to businesses.
A single-window clearance system and the Udyog-Sarathi portal have been introduced to provide quick access to necessary services. Moreover, a dedicated grievance redressal website has been set up for industry associations and businesses to report concerns related to industrial licenses, local services, and infrastructure issues. The municipal corporation will also actively seek feedback from industries to improve business operations in the region.
Regular Interaction with Industrial Representatives
Monthly meetings between industry representatives and regional officials will focus on addressing local industrial concerns.
Quarterly high-level meetings will be conducted by the municipal commissioner in coordination with MIDC, police administration, and the state government to discuss and implement necessary policy changes.
Special sessions will be held to strengthen coordination between the police department and industrial investors to ensure regulatory compliance and a secure business environment.
Encouraging Business Growth and Social Responsibility
The municipal corporation is also emphasizing the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of industries. Efforts will be made to increase industry participation in local development projects, healthcare, education, and social welfare schemes.
To support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the PCMC will collaborate with Auto Cluster and other industrial organizations to conduct vocational and technical training programs. Workers and entrepreneurs will also be provided with information and facilities related to government welfare schemes.
The Industry Facilitation Cell is expected to be a game-changer in boosting industrial investments and fostering a business-friendly environment. The initiative will be overseen by Commissioner Shekhar Singh, with operational management by Chief Information and Technology Officer Neelkanth Poman and CSR Chief Advisor Vijay Wavre.
