Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced that no transfer fee will be charged when the first-time buyers of flats under the corporation’s housing schemes register the properties in their names.

This decision, made by Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh on Thursday, aims to streamline the property registration process for buyers of unsold flats that have long remained in the names of developers or builders in the tax assessment records.

The properties in question are part of housing schemes built by developers, the Pune Housing and Area Development Board, the state government, and PCMC.

These properties, when unsold, are recorded in the tax books under the names of developers, contractors, or the entities that developed them. With the recent decision, once these flats are sold, the first-time buyers will not have to pay any transfer fee during the registration of the property in the municipal assessment records.

This decision is expected to bring relief to first-time homebuyers, encouraging faster sales of unsold properties in housing schemes. It also helps streamline the registration process, making it more convenient for new homeowners.

Proposals Approved in the Special Meeting

In addition to this decision, several other important proposals were approved during the meeting presided over by Administrator Shekhar Singh. These include:

  • The purchase of advanced equipment for the fire department to improve emergency response capabilities.

  • Revisions in the eligibility criteria and appointment percentages for health inspector positions, ensuring better standards in public health services.

  • The appointment of an architect for the design and construction of a new ITI (Industrial Training Institute) building on a land parcel in Chinchwad acquired as per ITUR (Integrated Township and Urban Development) norms.PCMC Waives Transfer Fees for First-Time Buyers of Housing Scheme Flats
