Pune: A car driver has been booked for negligent driving and causing injuries to two youths. The incident took place at Goodluck Chowk in Nigdi.

The CCTV footage of this incident too has been widely circulated on social media. Recently, a pedestrian woman was hit by a speeding car on Pimple-Saudagar Road in a hit-and-run case.

In the Nigdi accident case, the injured youths have been identified as Sanket Sunil Satpute and Meghaj Sanjay Patil. The driver has been identified as Suhas Vasant Joshi.

Nigdi police have detained him and his car has been seized. A complaint was filed against Joshi by Sanket Satpute with the Nigdi police.

As per the police report, the accident occurred around 10:15 PM at Goodluck Chowk in Nigdi. Sanket and Meghaj were walking back to their room after having dinner at a mess when a speeding car (MH-12 RK 9291) hit them from behind.

Both sustained injuries, and the driver immediately transported them to the hospital. The Nigdi police have confirmed that a case has been registered and the vehicle has been seized. Further investigations are underway.

The wave of accidents in Pimpri-Chinchwad continues unabated. In the Pimple Saudagar accident case, a speeding car had hit Vijaya Kumar Nayar, a Malyalam teacher who was walking down the Pimple Saudagar road on Sunday (July 21) afternoon.

The car driver, in an attempt to avoid collision with a two wheeler from opposite side, had to take a sudden left swirl towards where Vijaya Nayar was standing.

Vijaya, 56, was thrown in the air and fell on a parked bike, causing severe injuries to herself. The driver had fled from the spot, but later arrested by Pimpri police.
