Pimpri,23 August 2025: The draft ward structure for the upcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections was released on Friday, along with ward maps. According to the proposal, elections will be held for 128 seats across 32 wards, with each ward represented by four members.

The ward design remains the same as in 2017, but the population within each ward has increased. The last PCMC election was held in 2017, and the term officially ended on March 13, 2022.

However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, political developments in the state, and court cases regarding OBC reservation, elections could not be conducted. Since March 14, 2022, the municipal corporation has been under an administrator’s rule.

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court directed that municipal elections must be held. Following this, the state government decided to conduct elections based on a four-member ward system, and the State Election Commission instructed the PCMC to prepare a draft plan accordingly.

The draft structure was prepared by the administration and submitted to the state’s urban development department. It has now been published for public review. Citizens can raise objections and submit suggestions until September 4. After hearing these inputs, the final ward structure will be confirmed as per the election schedule.
