Pimpri-Chinchwad Gears Up for Class 10 Exams; 48 Centers Set for 28,000 Students

Two exam centers—Akurdi and Kalbhornagar—have been identified as sensitive locations due to previous cases of exam-related misconduct.

Pune: The Class 10 board (SSC) exams, conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, will commence Friday (February 21).

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Education Department has ensured that all necessary arrangements are in place to conduct the exams smoothly. 28,000 students from Pimpri-Chinchwad will take the exam across 48 designated centers.

Authorities have deployed strict security arrangements to prevent malpractice. Two exam centers—Akurdi and Kalbhornagar—have been identified as sensitive locations due to previous cases of exam-related misconduct.

To ensure fairness and discipline, the administration has taken the following steps:

  • Strict police security to prevent cheating.

  • Students will undergo thorough checks before entering the exam halls.

  • All exam centers will have video surveillance.

  • Counselors appointed to assist students and parents.

  • An additional 10 minutes will be given to students for the exam.

  • Total students appearing: 28,000

  • Municipal school students: 2,800

  • Private school students: 25,200

  • Total exam centers: 48

  • Municipal school exam centers: 10

  • Private school exam centers: 38

  • Flying squads deployed: 4
