PMPML Introduces Special Bus Service for Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Festival

Buses will depart from Mukundnagar at 10:30 PM on December 18, 19, 20, and 22. Service from Swargate Metro Station to Mukundnagar will be availableat nominal fare of ₹10.

Pune: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has introduced special bus services for the convenience of attendees at the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Festival. The services will run from December 18 to 22, starting at the Maharashtriya Mandal Sports Complex in Mukundnagar.

To ensure smooth travel for audiences returning late at night after the event, PMPML has decided to charge 25% additional fare on these special services.

Schedule Details:

  • Buses will depart from Mukundnagar at 10:30 PM on December 18, 19, 20, and 22.

  • On December 21, buses will operate at 12:30 AM.

  • A separate service from Swargate Metro Station to Mukundnagar will also be available, with a nominal fare of ₹10.

Special Bus Routes:

  • Mukundnagar to Nigdi Bhakti Shakti: Passing through Dandekar Bridge, Deccan, Wakadewadi, Kasarwadi, Pimpri, and Chinchwad Station.

  • Mukundnagar to Dhayari Maruti Temple: Via Dandekar Bridge, Vitthalwadi, Anandnagar, Vadgaon Phata, and Dhayari Village.

  • Mukundnagar to Kothrud Depot: Covering Tilak Road, Deccan Corner, Paud Phata, Jaybhavaninagar, and Vanaz Company.

  • Mukundnagar to Warje Malwadi: Through Deccan Corner, Paud Phata, Kothrud Stand, Gandhi Bhavan, and Karvenagar.

PMPML’s Appeal to Citizens:

The PMPML administration has urged passengers to make the most of this special service, which is designed to facilitate comfortable travel for the festival attendees.

This year’s Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen festival will see 15 debut performances alongside stalwarts like Pt. Ajay Chakraborty, Vidushi Arati Ankalikar-Tikekar, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar, Dr. L. Subramaniam, and Rakesh Chaurasia. The event promises unique features, including an all-women Mohini Music Group, Adnan Sami’s classical piano recital, and a Bharatanatyam performance by acclaimed dancer Shobhana.
