PMPML to Launch 3 New Bus Routes in Pune starting July 22 and 25, aiming to boost public transport access in high-demand areas.
New routes will connect Shewalewadi to Bibwewadi, Wagholi to Hinjawadi, and Janata Vasahat to Shivajinagar, improving connectivity for students, professionals, and senior citizens.
Services will operate with varied frequencies and limited buses, focusing on convenience, affordability, and last-mile connectivity.
Pune, 22 July 2025: In a move to enhance public transportation across key parts of the city, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced the launch of three new city bus routes. The services, which begin rolling out on July 22 and July 25, are designed to address the growing demand for efficient and affordable transit options among commuters.
Two of the new routes, Route 289 from Shewalewadi to Annabhau Sathe Bus Stop and Route 328 from Wagholi to Hinjawadi Maan Phase 3, will commence operations from July 22.
Route 289 will run every 30 minutes with six buses on rotation, while Route 328 will operate every hour with four buses.
A third route, Route 10, connecting Janata Vasahat Apal Chowk to Shivajinagar, will begin on July 25, running every 90 minutes with a single bus in service.
The new routes are aimed at easing travel for office-goers, students, senior citizens, and other daily commuters across fast-developing areas of the city.
PMPML officials emphasized the purpose behind the additions, stating, “The new routes aim to provide convenient and affordable public transport options for students, office-goers, senior citizens, and daily commuters.”
The transport body has urged the public to make full use of the expanded services, adding that these changes are part of their continued efforts to improve last-mile connectivity and reduce dependence on private vehicles.
