PMRDA Simplifies Building Permit Process: 44 Documents Reduced

Previously, citizens had to submit 133 documents, but with new process, only 89 documents are required, effectively reducing burden by 44 documents.

Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced a significant reduction in the number of documents required for building permits and various other applications.

Previously, citizens had to submit 133 different documents, but with the new streamlined process, only 89 documents are now required, effectively reducing the burden by 44 documents.

Communicating Procedure Improvements

PMRDA will notify relevant architects and technical consultants of any future procedural improvements via email and WhatsApp groups, and all updates will be published on the official PMRDA website.

Revised scrutiny templates have been prepared for each type of case to ensure accurate scrutiny and timely resolution.

Simplified Processes

In each case handled by PMRDA, only the essential documents will now be requested to ensure a streamlined process. Building permit applications will be pre-verified for document completeness by the Assistant Metropolitan Planner/Planning Assistant before submission, facilitating faster approvals.

Reducing Citizen Troubles

PMRDA provides various services, including development permits, plot inspections, occupancy certificates, TDR/FSI issuance, TDR utilization, sky sign permits, unauthorized plot regularization, IOD, site elevation certificates, and renewals.

The previous requirement for excessive documentation often led to incomplete submissions and delayed cases, causing unnecessary trouble for citizens.

Improvements based on the first-in, first-out principle have been instructed to address these issues, according to Sunil Marale, Director of Development Permission and Planning Department at PMRDA.

Implementation of Scrutiny Fee

New applications will require the determination and full payment of a technical scrutiny fee by the Assistant Metropolitan Planner/Planning Assistant before acceptance, simplifying the process and increasing PMRDA's revenue.
