Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced that no new tender processes will be initiated during the enforcement of the election code of conduct.

Additionally, existing tenders that have been submitted but are awaiting approval will not be sanctioned during this period, confirmed PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase.

Commissioner Mhase clarified that only the projects that received approval before 3:30 PM on October 15 will move forward as planned. “The code of conduct is now in effect, and we will adhere strictly to the government's prescribed rules.

No new tenders will be issued, and existing ones will not be approved. Only projects approved before the implementation of the code will proceed,” he stated.

The state assembly elections have been announced, leading to the immediate enforcement of the code of conduct, which temporarily halts all new government projects.

Recently, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde approved PMRDA’s budget, providing momentum to several long-pending projects. One of the notable initiatives included scheduling the lottery process for housing in Sector 12. However, all such projects have now been paused and will resume only after November.

Several tenders had already been floated by PMRDA, and many bidders had participated. Despite this, the PMRDA clarified that no approvals would be granted for any tenders during this period, and no new tenders would be issued. Only projects sanctioned before the enforcement of the code will be allowed to continue.
