Pune: POCSO Special court in Pune has denied the bail application of Vaibhav Rajesh Jadhav, accused of persistently harassing a minor girl studying in 12th grade.

The accused allegedly stalked the victim, wrote notes, and made indecent gestures that caused her embarrassment and psychological distress.

According to the details of the case, Jadhav repeatedly harassed the young girl by following her, stopping her on the street, and making inappropriate gestures. His actions left the victim feeling humiliated and afraid, severely affecting her mental well-being and ability to attend school.

The prosecution highlighted that the accused's behavior was not only morally reprehensible but also a violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, under which the case was registered.

The special POCSO judge, K.P. Kshirsagar, presided over the bail hearing and ultimately rejected Jadhav’s plea. Public prosecutor, who opposed the bail, Advocate Vijay Shribhagwan Agarwal, represented the victim, with additional support from Advocate Priyanka Gajpolu.

During the hearing, the victim’s lawyers argued that Jadhav, a married man, had caused significant distress to the girl, making it difficult for her to lead a normal life in society.

The continuous harassment also had a detrimental effect on her education, causing the young girl considerable emotional trauma. Given these circumstances, the court was urged to deny bail to prevent further harm to the victim.
