Pune: A bomb threat email sent to the Phoenix Market City Mall in the Viman Nagar area of Pune on Saturday caused widespread panic. The mall’s management quickly alerted the authorities, leading to a thorough investigation by the police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).

The threat was reported by Aditya Rajesh Shitole, a 30-year-old manager at the mall. On Saturday afternoon, Shitole reviewed an email received by Senior Manager Sandeep Singh at the mall. It was revealed that the email threatened to plant a bomb in Phoenix Mall.

The email, sent by someone using the alias "Hidden Bone," claimed that a bomb had been planted in the mall and that no one would survive. The sender expressed frustration with life, mentioning characters named "Pogo" and "Noro" as sources of distress.

The mall administration promptly informed the police of the incident. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) conducted a thorough inspection of the mall. No bomb-like object was found.

The email stated, "I am tired of life. No one in the mall will survive. Pogo and Noro are bothering me."

The police have started a technical investigation to trace the sender of the threatening email. Police Sub-Inspector G.B. Holkar is leading the investigation.

The incident has heightened security measures at the mall, with authorities urging the public to remain calm as they work to ensure safety.
