Lonavala: In a shocking incident, a police havaldar named Harendra Singh, who was attached to DRDO, committed suicide by shooting himself at the INS Shivaji naval base near Lonavala on Friday afternoon (July 12).

According to the information received, Harendra Singh was working as a police havaldar at DRDO. The INS Shivaji base, known for its high security, became the site of the tragic incident when Singh allegedly shot himself with a pistol.

Authorities are investigating why Singh was at the INS Shivaji base and how he came into possession of the pistol. Initial reports suggest that Singh may have taken his life due to personal reasons.

The senior officials from the armed forces, along with the Pune Rural Police, have launched an investigation to determine how Singh carried the firearm to the base and the circumstances leading to his suicide.
