Pune: A 10-year-old girl who was kidnapped from her home in Shirur has been successfully rescued by the police. Three suspects involved in the abduction have been detained, following a swift and coordinated investigation.
The abduction took place on March 13, 2025, between 8 AM and 1 PM in the Joshiwadi area of Shirur. The minor girl was playing near her house when she was allegedly lured and taken away by the suspects. Soon after the incident, the girl's family filed a complaint at the Shirur Police Station.
Recognizing the gravity of the case, Police Inspector Sandesh Kenjale directed a dedicated team to launch a thorough investigation. The team, led by officers Nitesh Thorat, Vijay Shinde, and Ravindra Awhad, meticulously examined over 100 CCTV camera footages from the city to trace the movements of the suspects.
Through detailed technical analysis, the investigators identified the suspects as Latabai Basir Kale, Akash Basir Kale, and Supriya alias Rambo Akash Kale — all residents of Sone Sangvi, Shirur. Acting promptly, the police apprehended the three suspects.
Further investigations revealed that the accused had taken the girl to Belapur, Mumbai, and left her with relatives. The accused falsely claimed that the child was their own and they were taking her for medical treatment. They assured the relatives they would return to collect her after the supposed treatment.
Once the location was confirmed, a police team promptly reached Belapur, safely rescued the girl, and brought her back to Shirur. She was reunited with her family, bringing immense relief to her loved ones. The suspects are currently under police custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.
