Pune: 17-Year-Old Dies After Bullet Collides with Divider, Injures Two Pedestrians

Pune: A tragic road accident in Pune’s Erandwane area claimed the life of a 17-year-old college student, Yash Kamlesh Dahiwal, who lost control of his Bullet motorcycle, colliding with a divider in Bharatkunj Society.

The crash also resulted in injuries to two others, an 86-year-old pedestrian and an 18-year-old, both of whom were struck by the out-of-control vehicle.

The incident occurred at around 3:45 pm on Thursday when Dahiwal, a college student, was on his way home on Appasaheb Kulkarni Path in Erandwane.

He reportedly lost control of the speeding motorcycle, which first hit the divider and then struck a pedestrian, Shrikanth Dattatray Datar, and another young man, Jayraj Rajesh Hulge.

Yash sustained a severe head injury, while Datar and Hulge were also seriously injured. Despite emergency efforts to transport Yash to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

The scene was quickly attended by Senior Police Inspector Sunita Rokde and Crime Branch Inspector Surekha Chavan, and the case is under investigation by Sub-Inspector Dixit.

Recently on October 20, a 12-year-old boy lost his life after a minor, driving a three-wheeler tempo at high speed without a valid driving license, collided with the two-wheeler the boy was riding with his mother. The accident took place around 4:30 PM in front of the MIDC Bhosari Police Station.

The family was returning home to Indrayani Nagar after the children finished their classes.

As they approached the junction near the MIDC Bhosari Police Station, heading toward PCNT Circle, a three-wheeler tempo driven by an underage boy appeared from Sant Nagar on the service road and crashed into their vehicle.
