Pune: A 28-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being shot in Pune’s Bibwewadi area on Monday (January 3) afternoon. The police suspect that the shooting was a result of an ongoing dispute between two groups. The injured individual, identified as Pavan Subhash Gawali, is currently undergoing treatment at Sassoon Hospital.

According to Bibwewadi police, the attack took place around 2 PM near VIT College in Upper Indiranagar. Gawli was standing near Pasalkar Arch when the accused opened fire, hitting him in the stomach. The bullet pierced through his body, leaving him in critical condition.

As soon as the police received information about the incident, they rushed to the crime scene and initiated an investigation. The process of filing an official complaint (FIR) was still ongoing as of late Monday night. Authorities are now working to identify and apprehend the shooter(s).

Three Arrested in Khed for Assaulting Police Officers While Drunk

Pimpri: A routine police patrol in Yelwadi village, Khed Taluka, turned violent when three intoxicated individuals attacked police officers who were trying to disperse them. All three accused have been arrested for obstructing government officials from performing their duty.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

• Nilesh Devidas Botre (35)

• Jaywant Laxman Pawar (37)

• Gorakh Subhash Gade (31)

According to the Mhalunge MIDC Police Station, Constable Shankar Aade and his team were on patrol when they noticed three individuals causing a public disturbance under the influence of alcohol. When the officers attempted to pacify them, the accused started abusing and threatening the police personnel.

The situation escalated when the intoxicated men pushed and physically assaulted the officers, leading to their immediate arrest. They are now facing charges of obstructing a public servant and assaulting police officers.
