Pune: 5 Girls Rescued from Brothel in Budhwar Peth

Pune: The Crime Branch police raided a brothel in Budhwar Peth and rescued five victims. A case has been registered against the four at Faraskhana police station.

The Crime Branch's Immoral Trafficking Prevention Cell and Freedom Firm, an NGO, received information that some girls were being forced into prostitution at a brothel in Budhwar Peth.

A team led by Additional Commissioner of Crime Shailesh Balkawade and Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale, police inspector Sangeeta Jadhav, assistant faujdar Rajendra Kumawat, Chhaya Jadhav, police officer Reshma Kank and Imran Khan Nadaf raided the brothel on Thursday night.

Five victims have been rescued and sent to a correctional home. A case has been registered against four persons, including a woman who runs a brothel, under the PITA Act.
